Orientation Fees

 

Orientation fees are nonrefundable. These fees cover the cost of meals, materials and programming for your orientation session, as well as programming for events during the first year at Southern Miss including Golden Eagle Welcome Week (GEWW). Student orientation fees must be paid upon registering for an orientation session. 

 

Please note that a student orientation course fee will appear on the student’s bill for UNV 100, the online orientation supplement. Also, please be aware that students will attend academic advisement on their own while parents/guests attend sessions at the Thad Cochran Center.

*Please note: A student orientation course fee of $100 will appear on the student’s bill for UNV 100, an online course designed to supplement the on-campus orientation experience.

 

Freshman and Scholarship Orientation Overnight Campus Housing Fees
Freshman and Scholarship Orientation on the Hattiesburg campus is a 2-day event. Campus overnight accommodations are available on the night in between the two days of Freshman and Scholarship Orientation.

 

Reservations are required, and space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no charge for students to stay in overnight campus housing during Freshman and Scholarship Orientation, but a reservation is required. Parents and families can reserve overnight campus housing for $45 per room, and reservations are required.

 

Each room has a maximum occupancy of two people. Please note that the overnight campus housing fee for parents/family is in addition to the $50 per person parents/family fee. Parents and families reside in a housing area separate from students.
