Mathematics - B.S.

The program provides students the opportunity to follow a course of study leading to a B.S. in mathematics.

The curriculum consists of courses covering the General Education Curriculum (GEC), mathematics and computer science courses. Students are encouraged to concentrate their electives to obtain a minor in another area.

Students need 124 hours to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. Both the Hattiesburg and Gulf Park campuses offer this degree program.

Students are required to take 45 hours of mathematics courses and a three-hour computer science course. These, together with GEC courses, prepare students for advanced study in mathematics, in other sciences or for technical opportunities in industry.
